When will Gym 01 Reopen?
We will be re-opening on Saturday July 25th.
What are the Gym opening hours?
We have temporarily restricted the hours of the gym. Opening from 7 am to 9 pm Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 2 pm Saturday and 10 am to 2 pm Sunday. This is to ensure that we keep staff and members safe. Plus, we can further increase the level of cleaning and run a full deep clean while the gym is shut.
Will there be a cap on numbers in the Gym?
Yes. We will limit the number of people in the gym at the same time, so members can keep a safe distance from each other. You can check your Fit sense app to see how many people are currently at the gym and the availability of sessions.
Will I need to book to get into the Gym?
Yes. Access will only be granted via pre-booking using your Fitsense app. We have divided the gym up into areas so you will be able to book mat space, where you can use the punch bags as well as the grappling dummies in Unit 16 or the weights and cardio area in Unit 15.
How long can I stay in the gym for?
Members will only be able to use the gym for a 1-hour slot at present although we hope to be able to change this in the very near future. You will be notified by a member of staff and by push notification when you have been in for 60 minutes allowing you 15 minutes to clean any equipment you have used.
How will you check if members are safe to enter the gym?
We will be temperature checking everyone before they enter the gym with a forehead thermometer. Anyone with a high temperature (38 degrees centigrade or above) will be unable to enter the gym. We’re also asking members and staff not to visit the club if they feel unwell or have any COVID-19 symptoms.
What Shall I bring?
Workout gear: Please arrive ready to work as current restrictions do not allow us to let you change on the premises.
Minimal belongings: All you need is your membership card and bank card/cash if you want to make a purchase.
Full water bottle: You are only allowed to fill water bottles from fountains currently so please bring a bottle.
PLEASE DO NOT BRING A TOWEL. You are not currently permitted to use sweat towels on the gym floor. We have increased our blue roll stations for you to use instead.
What Social distancing measures have been put in place?
Social distancing signage, including floor markers indicating where to stand, posters indicating the capacity in each area of the gym, barriers for queuing, signs for exiting, and, where possible, directional signs and floor signs indicating one-way systems.
Some equipment on the gym floor may be unavailable to allow for social distancing.
Will I have to queue?
We expect queues to be very unlikely but have put safety measures in place if you do need to wait for a little before getting in.
Are changing facilities and showers available?
The changing rooms will be open but only open for toilet facilities, operating a one in one out policy. Please ensure you arrive ready to workout. Showers will be out of use until restrictions are lifted.
Are Lockers still in use?
There will be a limited number of lockers available, so please limit your personal belongings and only use a locker if absolutely necessary.
Will you be running classes?
Not when we first re-open. We will assess the situation each week and keep everyone informed.
Has the Gym been deep cleaned?
Yes, the gym was deep cleaned and sanitised prior to closure and will receive a further deep clean before reopening.
How will you keep the gym clean?
Gym 01 will be deep cleaned when closed and regularly throughout the day, using high-grade disinfectants and fogging machines.
Will members be able to clean equipment?
Yes, we have installed plenty of Blue Stations throughout the gym which includes Hand sanitiser, Anti-Bacterial Spray Mops, Disinfectant spray, and Blue roll to wipe down any area or equipment you use.
Should I wear gloves or a mask to the Gym?
At Gym 01 you are not required to wear a mask or gloves, however, you can do so if you would feel more comfortable.
What do I do if another member breaches the guidelines?
Please inform a member of staff immediately. We take breaches of the restrictions very seriously and will be addressing any members found to be in breach of the government restrictions and guidelines.
When will you be lifting the restrictions?
We are following guidance from UK Active, the Government, National Governing bodies associated with each style of Martial Art, Sport England, England Boxing, Public Health England, and W.H.O. to make sure we keep you safe. We will ease restrictions when we have been advised that it is safe to do so, and we will of course keep you informed at every step.
I am a pre-paid member; will my membership be extended?
Yes, we’ll be extending your membership by the length of time that the club was closed.
