Kickboxing is one of the most popular, and formidable sports in the world. Our non contact teen classes are perfect to boost confidence, make new friends, get fit and learn the sport that encompasses kicking, punching, elbows and knees. These popular classes are the perfect gap between the Junior classes and moving into the Adult sessions. Between the ages of 12 and 15 years we find that mixing between this class, and our Junior classes gives the perfect preparation to step up to the more intense adult classes.
Our coach Michael has trained with Gym 01 since his teens and has come through from beginner, to assistant coach and now works full time at Gym 01. He often trains in Thailand and is a keen fan of the sport often going away to watch events such as Glory. Michael is a great role model for the young adults he teaches and has a vast expanse of knowledge of both Muay Thai and Kickboxing and is always happy to pass this on to the next generation.

In this class we demonstrate the techniques that have been made famous in the UFC, in a strict and controlled environment. Like every other combat sport and martial arts, without the correct coaching and application, any technique can be dangerous. This is why our coaching system at Gym 01 ensures participant safety in every single class.
In this class you will follow a system of basics which will give you an entire overview of MMA including striking, wrestling, grappling and more.
Teen MMA coach Ollie Southern joined Gym 01 in his teens and has come through the very same system, accumulating an impressive 20 fights in his first 3 years. Although competing and sparring is always voluntary, MMA is a contact sport so we believe having someone who has been there, and done it is the only way to coach properly. Ollie is a full time coach and professional fighter out of Gym 01 and as level 2 personal trainer as well we are sure you will love his coaching as much as his knowledge of the sport.
